What and where do you glean your Spiritual Truths from? Sunday and Wednesday Church services, Bible study, testimonies, and prayer? When you are quiet before the Lord are you aware of HIM revealing His Truths to you? Do you conscientiously make an effort to listen for His Voice? We need to always be aware of His voice speaking to us; instructing us, giving us wisdom and revelations of His Truths. Gleaning just means that we need to always be gathering and accumulating knowledge about our Lord so that we can grow, mature and become all His has planned for us to be.
Some years ago I walked in the mornings with a friend. She and I lived a few blocks from each other and would meet half way and then continue to walk for another 30 minutes. I loved those times with her and our conversations. Of course we talked about many things; many were just fun things, but always at some point during our walk, our conversation would be centered around Jesus.
On one particular morning the sun was rising and it shone so brightly we could hardly see. I remember we actually held our hands over our eyes like a visor, and had to look down in order to see where we were stepping. Every once in a while I would try to lift my hands away my eyes, but immediately cover them again because of the brilliance of the sun.
As we commented on the beauty of the morning and how bright the sun was; that no matter what direction we were walking, it was so bright that we covered our eyes. I said something to the effect that:
“This is how it will be in heaven. The Light of Jesus is so brilliant and glorious that it will be like having a front row seat view of Him; there will be no obstruction of our view of Him”.
As she and I talked we both agreed that everyone can have this close-one-on-one-kind of relationship with God right now if they want. If a person doesn’t have this close relationship with Jesus and God our Father, it is not because of any decision of God’s, but of ours. He has already provided the WAY (Jesus) and means (the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus) for us to be able to come into His Holy Presence. We are the ones who need a Savior and must repent and decide to confess Jesus as Lord. God has provided us with what is necessary to become His child and then gave us instructions in His Book (Bible) to know how to maintain this relationship with Him.
Everyone can have this front-row-seat-relationship with Jesus, but it is the responsibility of each person to make their own decision; no one else can make this decision for another. It is the responsibility of each person to obtain a relationship with Jesus and to maintain it for them self.
I hope that the next time you see the sun shining so very bright you will be reminded that the SON of GOD -JESUS – is the LIGHT and wants this one-on-one relationship with you. And He wants this relationship to be strong and secure based on the Word of God. I pray that if you haven’t made this decision for eternal Salvation that this will be the day of your Salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). I also pray for those of us who have this relationship with Jesus to continue to maintain our fellowship with Him by renewing our mind to His Word and allow His Power to change us and grow us up in Him.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
John 3:3 – Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
2 Corinthians 6:2 – Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
John 8:12 – Then Jesus spike to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world”.
John 14:6 – Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
Romans 10:13 – For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
