Strong Faith-It’s About Maintenance

August 22, 2018 by maryruwe

th Since I’m a little late posting my blog this week I thought I’d share a few thoughts of what I received from the devotional I read this morning about faith and trials.

Faith isn’t made strong by trials, tests or temptations.  It’s our strong faith that stands against them but strong faith comes from hearing and hearing the Word of God.  (Romans 10:17)

Trials, tests, and temptations come to steal, kill and destroy our faith.  These avenues are the tools the enemy uses against us.  (John 10:10)   Our faith will grow strong and sustain us during times of adversity because we draw closer to God, or it will be weak and fail us because we pull away from God and His Word.

Our faith may appear stronger during these adverse times but the fact is it’s just that we are not aware of it as much at other times.  Sound crazy to you?  Well, think of it this way: we have muscles that we are not aware of until we use them but they are still there all the time.  If we don’t use them (exercise them) they will eventually become weak; same is true of our faith.

Our faith is present all the time, but it’s when we exercise it that we notice how strong it is or how weak it is.  The point of truth is that we need to maintain strong faith regardless of whether we are facing a valley of a trail, test, or temptation, or we’re enjoying the top of the mountain. We need to do strength-faith-training all the time so we are ready when those adverse situations come to us.

Take time this week to review Scriptures on who you are in Christ and what He has done for you.  Spend some time this week to look up verses about healing, prosperity, deliverance, and freedom that are provided by the God who love us so very much; that’s what I’m going to do.
