Last month we talked about three Bible truths we should think about from time to time with the post, “Thoughts To Ponder”: 1) God loves us; 2) God makes us righteous; and 3) God gives us the right to choose – it’s our decision to believe and live for Him. Basically the topic of that post was about Salvation that God has provided through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus His Son. It is through and because of His sacrifice to pay the penalty of sin that He is able to redeem all who believe in Him. (John 3:16-17)
This week I wanted to continue with two more Biblical truths we should meditate on; health/healing and finances. Everyone has dealt with sickness and a shortage of finances at some point in their lives. But the Bible has a great deal to say about both of them – and it’s all good news! We must remember that just because we experience sickness or a financial lack, it doesn’t necessarily mean we are out of the will of God or in sin, it just means we have an enemy who steals from us in these two areas. We need to know the truth of God’s will and His Word so we can stand strong in faith to receive all the blessings God has for us.
God has provided and provides healing and health for us.
Think about this fact: a house, or kingdom divided cannot stand. (Mark 3:24-25) Sickness does not come from God because it is God who heals. God does not make us sick to teach us something; we may learn something during that time of illness because we draw near to Him; but the illness itself comes from Satan. Healing is included in the Covenant that we as Christians have with God through Jesus. Sickness is not a good thing and since God is good then there is no sickness in Him to give – He only has healing and good health for us. Read these following Scriptures and let them minister healing to you.
Exodus 15:26 – God is the Lord who heals us.
Psalm 103:2-3 – Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.
Psalm 107:20 – He sent His word and healed them.
Isaiah 53:5 – By His stripes we are healed.
Jeremiah 30:17 – For I will restore health to you and heal your of your wounds, says the Lord.
John 1:1, 14 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, the begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Matthew 9:35 – Jesus went about all the cities, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
1 Peter 2:24 – Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, (the Cross) that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes we were healed.
God wants to bless us financially.
Everyone needs finances in this world. More is better than less, right? If God is a good God, then to me, it makes sense that He would want us to have more than enough. The reason is so we can be a blessing to others. The devil is the thief who comes to steel, kill and destroy. Jesus came to give us life and life abundantly. (John 10:10)
Prosperity is included in the Covenant that we as Christians have with God through Jesus. We see from Deuteronomy 28 that the blessings of prosperity come when we obey the Commandments of God. Since God is still the same today, then this principle still if truth today. Obedience brings blessings. Read the following Scripture to renew your mind to what the Bible says is yours in the area of your finances.
Psalm 112:1-3, Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
Joshua 1:8-9, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Proverbs 3:9-10, Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase, so your barns (homes) will be filled with plenty.
Malachi 3:10, Bring all the tithes into the storehouse (church), that there may be food in My house (church), and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8, He who sows (gives) sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows (gives) bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. God is able to make all grace abound to you, always having all sufficiency in all things and may have abundance for every good work.
Philippians 4:19, God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I pray that this is an encouraging to you to believe God for all His benefits.
